To My Patients: a note about the CoVID-19 Pandemic & Patient Office Visits

As many physicians return to in-person patient visits, every specialty considers their unique requirements. During these many weeks of the Covid-19 pandemic, I have found that Virtual Visits are not only a safe way to interact, they also deliver excellent neurological care for my established as well as new patients.

Therefore, in order to maintain the safety of my patients, their families and Integrated Neurology’s staff, I will continue to provide continuity of care using the Virtual Visit format.

My oath to “First, do no harm” is paramount in my mind while I consider these factors:

  • The risk of transmission among asymptomatic people that may carry Covid-19.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as N95 masks, gowns, and eye-wear that allow me to see patients in person is dangerously limited, reserving its use for EMERGENCIES only.

  • The lack of Covid-19 testing kits available.

  • The lack of testing & contact tracing.

  • The knowledge that we will not be totally safe until a vaccine is available.

I know that everyone is eager to “get back to normal” as quickly as possible, and while I am also eager to resume normal operations, I will do so in accordance with scientific recommendations, and continue to re-evaluate based on the most current information as it becomes available.

Take heart, things are moving in a positive direction! Meanwhile, keep up the good work; wash your hands, avoid touching your face, wear your mask and maintain social distancing!

Be Well,

Dr. Reeta
