Ultra-processed foods are those that go through multiple processes, contain many added ingredients and are highly manipulated. They are usually packaged and last on the shelf and in the fridge for quite some time. Ultra-processed food consumption is associated with increased risk of stroke and heart attack, depression, anxiety, increased body weight, and overall mortality. A new study links the association of cognitive decline to eating ultra-processed foods.

More evidence that what we eat today determines our health tomorrow and into the next decades. Try to limit the consumption of ultra-processed foods in favor of whole, fresh, and seasonal ingredients, prepared simply. It doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult.
